Transfer Talk LATEST: Arsenal make £1.5m bid for Brazilian star?
Arsenal are about to make a £1.5m bid for Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar. The Telegraph is reporting that the Gunners have scouts at the 2013 Confederations Cup, where the former Inter goalkeeper will be starting the final against Spain.
Arsene Wenger wants to have a semblance of stability in his team next season, which will start with an experienced campaigner between the sticks. A new senior goalkeeper to provide cover for the Polish duo of Wojciech Szczesny and Lukas Fabianski, both of whom were inconsistent and were rotated throughout the 2012/13 season, is the need of the hour at Emirates.
Arsenal is also monitoring the situation of goalkeepers Pepe Reina and Asmir Begovic, however the Arsenal hierarchy are said to have Cesar as their first choice and will switch targets only if forced to.
