Real Mallorca Fighting Hard
It’s quite hard to believe that Real Mallorca are relegation candidates this season but that’s how football is. Now, they are fighting as hard as they could in the league to try to get safety as they visited the Santiago Bernabeu. The first half went really well for them as they ended it winning 2-1 but a few changes by Jose Mourinho made sure that they weren’t able to hold on to the lead during the second half. They will need to keep their fighting spirits up though as they entertain the other relegation battlers, Deportivo La Coruna, during the next matchday.
Rotation Not Working Too Well For Real Madrid
Players need to rest and Jose Mourinho has decided to rest a few, such as Mesut Ozil and Xabi Alonso, against Real Mallorca. Problem is that whenever Los Merengues rest some of their key players, it’s extremely difficult for them to come out with a good performance. This is the second time in two weeks that the manager had to make changes at half time to ensure Real Madrid have a better second half. Last week he made three, while he decided to only make two tonight. All the player will need to be ready to step up, especially with a major schedule such as the one Los Blancos have.
Giovani Dos Santos A Key Man For Real Mallorca
Even with all their relegation troubles this season, Real Mallorca still have one player that keeps on shining: Giovani Dos Santos. Once considered a surplus to requirements at Barcelona, he now finds himself in Real Mallorca after a spell with Tottenham and trying to do everything he possibly could to help save them. He wasn’t able to get on the scoresheet tonight but his midfield dominance and distribution will be something worth watching and also something that Mallorca need for the coming games. I wouldn’t be surprised to find him in a major European club during the next couple years.
Luka Modric Continues To Improve
After being voted the worst signing of La Liga earlier in the season, a few great performances and a wonderful goal against Manchester United changed all of that. He has since regained his confidence and it was very apparent on the pitch. After assisting a goal, he came out and scored a screamer for Real Madrid to help them to a 5-2 win over Real Mallorca. He may need some more time to fully gain his form, but the latest few performances show that he has a great future ahead of him at the Santiago Bernabeu
Which Attacker Is Best?
Real Madrid have some great center forwards at their disposal namely Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema but neither is able to shine throughout this whole season. The youngster, Alvaro Morata, has had some good moments as well but needs some more time to be on the same standard as the others. Higuain and Benzema will really need to find some way of improving their form this season as some major games will be coming up during the next couple months. Los Merengues can’t really keep putting their hopes on Cristiano Ronaldo to get all the goals anymore…
